This is me and one of my great loves, Lake Michigan. While I was born and raised in Ohio, I have found a second home in the Great Lake State and a family in the Williamston United Methodist Church.
I was baptized and raised in a United Methodist Church in Rockford, Ohio, but upon graduating I left that local church and soon left the church altogether. I considered myself “spiritual, not religious,” but in time I discovered that a truly spiritual life is a difficult journey to travel alone. Eventually the Spirit led me back into the church and into ministry in Christ’s name.
The WUMC Mission Statement says a lot about who we are as a body of believers. We seek to be a visible likeness of our Lord Jesus Christ in the world. Jesus healed the sick, fed the hungry, and ate with sinners. Similarly, we seek to be instruments of healing and peace and offer the same radical hospitality through our lives.
Whether you are a Christian or not, a seeker, or a cynic, you are welcomed as family in this house.
Peace,
Pastor Amee
